The smartpr Concept

smartpr provides strategic counsel and full-service public relations for any type of business, but specializes in establishing, leveraging and maintaining marketplace credibility for early-stage companies.

Our approach to designing programs for clients is to take into consideration two equally important sides of the strategic-communication equation: the "buy" side and the "sell" side.

On the buy side, a company must positively influence the audiences that need to “buy into” the company as an industry player.  Among these audiences are industry/market-research analysts, the financial community and the media.  This side of the equation requires a Marketplace Credibility Management program and is the purview of public relations.

On the sell side, a company must move its target market(s) to purchase the products/services being sold.  This side of the equation is supported by sales, marketing, advertising and promotion, as well as by public relations, all seamlessly working together, with consistency of messages.

In addition, we understand and leverage what we call the Communication Supply Chain; that is, how the “information market” really works.  We understand the agendas of all the players in that chain and use them to forward a client’s agenda, and prevent a client from becoming the chain’s “weakest link.”

The most important action for a company to take is, simply, to take action, not letting others in the supply chain define (likely misdefine) its business.  We assist our clients in taking control of what is being communicated, how it is being communicated, when, why and by whom.
